Telematics Installation for Utility & Energy Fleets

Bucket trucks, line trucks, service pickups, and field crews. We install GPS, PTO monitoring, cameras, and asset trackers that work on complex upfits and in remote places.

What we see in the field

Challenges specific to utility fleets

Engine hours matter more than miles

A line truck may drive a few miles and then run the PTO for hours. Maintenance and idle reports are only accurate if PTO and engine hours are wired and reported correctly.

Idling vs. working

Utility trucks idle a lot, and some of that is real work running hydraulics. Telling the two apart takes the right inputs.

Complex upfits

Booms, outriggers, inverters, lighting, and body wiring leave little room for error. A telematics install can’t interfere with any of it.

Storm and mutual aid response

When crews and contractor trucks come in from other areas, you need to see where everyone is, fast.

Remote coverage

Right-of-way, substations, and well sites can be far from good cell service. Antenna placement and device choice make a real difference.

Safety first

Crews work around energized equipment. Camera, driver behavior, and lone-worker data support the safety program, but only if the devices are installed right.

How we help

Careful installs on trucks that can’t be down long

We work with your fleet shop and upfitter to plan each truck type, then install to that plan across every service center.

  • GPS gateways with PTO and auxiliary inputs wired and tested
  • Device and cable routing planned with your upfitter and safety team.
  • Dashcams and 360° camera systems for large trucks
  • Trackers for trailers, generators, reel trailers, and other equipment
  • Rollouts scheduled around crew shifts and storm season
  • QC audits to make sure PTO and idle data is accurate

Typical devices we install

  • Vehicle gateways
  • PTO & aux input sensors
  • Dashcams
  • 360° cameras
  • Asset trackers
  • Roll-out solar
  • External antennas
  • 12V power & harnesses

Utility fleet questions

Can you wire PTO monitoring on our bucket trucks?

Yes. We wire PTO and other inputs to the telematics device and test that they report on your platform. We confirm the right signal source with your shop or upfitter first.

Will the install affect our boom or dielectric testing?

We plan device and cable placement with your upfitter and safety team. Your safety team has final say on placement.

Can you work around crew schedules?

Yes. We plan around shifts, on-call rotations, and storm season so trucks are out of service as little as possible.

Do you sell the hardware?

No. Your platform provider supplies it. We install it and document it.
